The Publicity Manager will help create, shape, execute and manage campaigns for series,films, and other content formats making use of multiple earned media channels, including broadcast, print and online as well as new medias. He/she will play a critical role in communicating with filmmakers, talent and production company partners during production up to and beyond launch. They will focus on creating cultural moments in Brazil and LATAM and high impact campaigns, explore new tactics of promoting film and series, and will be able to communicate different facets of their campaigns to executives, filmmakers, talent and representatives. She/he will pitch media, secure opportunities and cover set visits or help plan and work junkets. She/he has also worked alongside agencies, or has managed agencies on projects. They can formulate and manage a budget, and give visibility into their process successfully.
The ideal candidate is able to make wise decisions, even when faced with ambiguity and thinks strategically. He/she is doesn’t fall back on PR 101 tactics and is eager to put a new spin on what a series and film campaign can be. He or she is a good listener and a real doer, and is able to multi-task and work at a clip pace. They are not afraid to get their hands dirty – and that could mean jumping in to handle tasks that range from writing a strategy, writing an announcement, booking travel or negotiating hair and make-up. They collaborate well with partners that range from content/programming, marketing, social to product and beyond. Strong candidates can handle a vast amount of work and are eager to learn. They are curious and also contribute effectively outside of their speciality looking to elevate. A good fit in the role has a candid and direct communication style. They are willing to admit to mistakes quickly and question values inconsistent with our values and Netflix culture. They understand that sometimes the job requires delivering bad news, and they’re tactful in handling such issues.
The successful candidate for Manager, Publicity Brazil will have at least 10+ years of experience in an agency, studio, network or journalism setting.
They have relationships with key media as well as the ability to build and maintain connections with key journalists and social media influencers. BA/BS required.
Ability to speak/write in Portuguese as well as English is essential. Spanish is a plus.
